PDFTool is designed so that your documents are processed entirely on your own device. When you merge, split, sign, redact, convert or fill a PDF here, the work is done by JavaScript running in your web browser. Your file is not uploaded to our server, not stored by us, and never seen by us. Once you close the tab, it's gone from the page's memory.
This isn't just a policy choice — it's how the technology works. We couldn't access your files even if we wanted to.
Running the site involves a small number of third-party services, each of which may receive basic technical information (like your IP address and browser type) simply because your browser connects to them:
If you contact us through the contact form, we receive the name, email address and message you chose to type. We use that only to respond to you. We don't add you to mailing lists, and we don't share or sell your details to anyone.
PDFTool doesn't collect personal information from anyone, including children. The tools are safe for anyone to use, but children should always have a parent or guardian's guidance when sharing any information online — for example when using a contact form.
If we ever change how PDFTool handles privacy, we'll update this page and change the "last updated" date above. The core promise — your files are processed on your device, not our servers — is baked into how the tools are built and won't change.
